The world will break your heart ten ways to Sunday. That’s guaranteed. I can’t begin to explain that. Or the craziness inside myself and everyone else. But guess what? Sunday’s my favorite day again. I think of what everyone did for me, and I feel like a very lucky guy.
Pat came from a haunting nostalgia of clutter inner clothes of both man and a woman, his wedding song playing on a cassette and like breadcrumbs he followed the trail and saw his wife’s infidelity. Seeing her being caressed by another guy is decomposing — almost crushed him to death. But like the dawn, his sight almost dark with anger he just had to get even.
For a man being cheated, it was a natural reaction for Pat to almost kill the lover with his fist. The man was actually an old professor of the same local high school he is working too. Degrading as you thought might be, he didn’t do it to defend his ego rather it was all for his blind love to his wife Nikki.
After the incident, Pat was diagnosed with Bipolar and had to undergo therapies. After a few months, With the help of his mother, the court had released their judgment and free him out of the mental institution. This was the chance. Pat thought he wanted to take all his chances, on getting back on Nikki and maybe iron things out.
He was hopeful, that he reads all the books Nikki would want him read, and loose weight just what as she said before the confrontation happened –he was hopeful that maybe, just maybe they could start out again and build their family.
Then one day, while his busy contemplating and still on the process of controlling his manic behavior, here comes another headache. Tiffany. A smart woman, also diagnosed with bipolar, whom husband died for buying her lingerie and stopping over the road to help a man and accidentally hit by a car.
Well, faith really plays the game well. They were set up for a dinner and was introduced awkwardly. Then they found themselves talking and laughing over mood stabilizers. Yes, that is weird. However, the dinner went well as Tiffany made a petty discussion with her sister Veronica. Pat though hesitant had to force himself to walk home with the lunatic lass.
The next day, Pat made his daily routine jog and half intentional on passing on Tiff’s house which became the start of annoying days — and weeks and more.
As Pat’s doctor advised him to befriend Tiffany knowing that her sister Veronica was Nikki’s best friend. She might be able to help him bridge out to her. Now that, he has already had a restraining order, he badly needs help, whatever it takes.
As she invited Tiffany for dinner with raisin bran cereal and tea, she resolved to help him deliver a letter. And the deal was closed.
But like her frequent mood swings, Tiffany changes her mind the day after.
She was only to give Nikki the letter, if and only if, he joins her in a dance contest.
Who could have thought that two crazy people, literally crazy, would one day meet, converse unusually and finally found that the waltz and rhythm to heal their broken past was to have each other?
Will they ever go to see the silver linings behind the clouds?
It’s supposed to be a review but I was bound speechless by this movie especially when Bradley Cooper did the silliest yet the sexiest dance. Kudos! An unconventional love story that will make you laugh from start til the end. Excelsior! 🙂
